Nice relaxing place with good garden
Five Degrees West is both a nice pub to relax and enjoy a drink with friends and a great little restaurant amidst the many in Falmouth. The garden at the back is a great place to sit in good weather, sheltered from the wind and with a lovely relaxed feel to it. The food on offer ranges from seafood (well, it is Falmouth...) to burgers, and the 2 steak meals and 2 drink for £20 offer is too good not to be taken up. A real find.

Terrible service
Having eaten here before I expected a lot more.

A group of three we sat down and ordered our food. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait which was fine. However, an hour and twenty minutes later we were getting very impatient. In particular a table of eight next to us, who turned up 20 minutes after us, were receiving their food. So we decided to speak to the manager who informed us that they were on their starters that was why they were getting their food, we did not order any starters. She also said we would have to wait a further 10 minutes.

A very rude person, poor attitude and no apology. We promptly received our money back and left - and won't be going back. As well as telling all of our family and friends etc.

I've never been treated so poorly in a restaurant before.

I use this place on a regular basis for lunch business meetings. My favourite table is 26, large oval seating 6 people comfortably, near the beer garden. The staff are friendly and really helpful. Food is always freshly cooked. Extremely handy for anyone visiting the Maritime Museum of the Marina.

What a Roast! Would definately reccomend
I have just got back from a visit to Falmouth where we Enjoyed a wonderful Sunday roast at 5 Degrees West. The service was fantastic with really friendly & helpful staff. The pub was warm, clean and comfy, and had a wonderful sofa by the fireplace! I look forward to going back in the summer when I am told there will be a new menu with lots of tasty new dishes to choose from.

Fantastic - worth a visit
I love this place and would recommend it to anyone in the area, The décor inside is good with a modern traditional wooden feel and a bright open kitchen so you can see the food being made, quite often I have sat right by the kitchen and everything I saw being cooked was fresh and was done so with care and effort. The staff are friendly and polite and this seems to be a single owned business they seem to care more about what they are doing and offering. The bacon and cheese burger topped with a fried egg is worth trying, its massive and comes with a giant bowl of chips – quite a few times this has beaten me and its really well priced. Reservations are possible here so get here early if you want to eat here or be prepared to wait in the bar where you have to keep an eye on the tables as there is no queuing system.

Average pub food
Five degrees West is smartly decorated inside, with nice touches such as sofas and an open fire. I think that the food is average and a bit too expensive. Its the kind of place you might want to go to play it safe - standard pub fare like sausages and mash and burgers. It is very popular with families and students: students get a discount.

They do not take bookings so arrive early at the weekend for a table of be prepared to wait. The pub has won lots of best pub of the year awards, so I may be in the minority by considering it to be not that great or exciting.

5 Degrees West
Style wise, the decor is classic and smart. Open fire places, leather sofas a good atmosphere. For drinks it is an excellent place. However the food can be a bit hit or miss. Last night and a month before I shared one of their tapas platters. Unfortunately the garnish always looks like its been sat out for ges with browning leaves and the hoummous always just tastes of garlic. Its really dissapointing especially when the service is so friendly. Students get discount when they present a valid student ID. In all it is an average restaurant.
